Nagaland University Students’ Union (NUSU) met with Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) officials on November 25, to discuss the ongoing scholarship issue, a press release from NUSU said. During the meeting NUSU (L), President, K .Chumseli Anar, expressed the students’ anguish over the non-disbursement of scholarships, the release said. Anar said that the State Government had failed to respond to the appeals of the NUSU, made on October 21, seeking clarification on the issue and the peaceful candlelight protests held on November 16 and 18 where they had given a one week deadline to the state government, the release informed. The NUSU (L) Vice president, Changlang Konyak also stated that they would continue to fight against the state government till justice is delivered to the students, the press release added. It said that, during the meeting, it was decided that that the NSF along with the NUSU body will meet officials of the Department of Higher Education on November 27, to find out why the department has not disbursed the scholarship money yet. In view of this, the NUSU has decided to keep in abeyance, their state wide protest, till November 27, the release mentioned.
