In a statement Rural Development, Publicity Cell stated that principal System Analyst, NIC, Nagaland, Swedesenuo Natso graced the training as the resource person. It may be noted that Planplus is a software developed by NIC, under the guidance and direction from Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in order to demystify and strengthen the decentralized planning process.

The software is a web-based and captures the entire planning workflow starting from identification of needs and the plan approval process till the final approval by the District Planning Committee.

Delivering an introduction to Planplus, Swedesenuo said Planplus captures different types of activities such as public works, beneficiary oriented programmes and costless activities and also supports need based planning rather than scheme based planning. It will facilitate convergence of funds from Central, State sponsored schemes and other resources to address the needs of the people. She also informed that it will assist integration of plan prepared by planning unit into a single GPDP plan document as well as facilitates tracking of FFC fund flow to GP.

Earlier, in his introductory speech, joint director, RD, K. Neibou Sekhose called upon the trainees to be sincere and attentive during the training and learn everything thoroughly as they will be going back to their respective districts and blocks as master trainers.
