November 6, 2017 | by admin

In connection with the arrest of a person involved in the firing incident at Kuda Cold Storage, Dimapur on September 18, 2017, NSCN (K) through its MIP clarified that in its earlier clarification it had erroneously rendered culprit’s name as Akheto Chopy instead of Hekato Chopy.
NSCN (K) stated that Hekato Chopy was apprehended by the security agencies several times on extortion charges all the while claiming to be a captain or lieutenant of NSCN (K) and the commander of Dimapur town. NSCN (K) said it however disowned all the claims whatsoever.
In this regard, it has informed the responsible authority to not ascribe any of the claims made by the “habitual criminal” to NSCN (K), but to award maximum penalty and prevent the offender from committing further anti-social activities.
Further, NSCN (K) also clarified that Khumtsa Sumi, as ascertained from the chaplee ministry, was never appointed as the secretary finance. It, however, stated that he was assigned as finance assistant by finance in-charge of Dimapur district “brig.” Akaho Zhimomi. NSCN (K) said Khumtsa Sumi was therefore authorized to deal with financial matters in and around Dimapur during the current financial year 2016-17.
