Media workshop ‘Vartalap’ held in Chümoukedima

Press Information Bureau (PIB), ministry of Information & Broadcasting Kohima organised a media workshop on Monday, at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima on the theme “Improving Information Dissemination in Nagaland”.
According to a DPRO Dimapur report, special guest, EAC Chümoukedima, Seyie Solo emphasised on the role and importance of media in a democratic state like Nagaland where various policies, programmes and projects from different departments were being implemented.
He said there was a need for disseminating right information to the beneficiaries especially at grassroots level.
The guest speaker also talked about responsible and ethical journalism and the need to distinguish between facts and opinions.
Meanwhile, assistant district program manager, Dimapur, Rural Development department, Yimok Phom highlighted the achievements, challenges and undertakings of the department in Dimapur.
Later, project officer, department of Tribal Affairs, Imsumeren highlighted various central schemes and projects in the state.
