Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Monday served a ten-day ultimatum on the state chief minister demanding that the cabinet nullify the office memorandum for approval of the cabinet meeting Agenda No. 9.
In the ultimatum to the chief minister, NSF president, Kesosul Christopher Ltu, and general secretary, Imtiyapang Imsong, stated that despite NSF’s repeated appeals through the office of the chief secretary, the cabinet meeting held on September 11, 2017 had “illicitly” approved absorption of one post of assistant director to women resource development department from Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), who was serving as assistant academic officer.
Naga Students’ Federation stated that cabinet meeting approval “evidently” violated the state government notification dated May 6, 2015 order, which clearly states that “the appointment of the officer as assistant director to women resource development department is purely on deputation basis and shall be reverted back to his parent department on expiry of two years term period without any notice and that, the Officer shall have no right to claim seniority nor absorption.”
In the light of the above and in order to prevent such illegal precedent in future, the NSF has demanded that the cabinet nullify the office memorandum for approval of the cabinet meeting Agenda No. 9 within 10 days failing which the federation would resort to its own course of actions.
