PWD (R&B) gets 24 backhoe loaders

With a view to efficiently cater to the needs of the public and to better equip the Public Works Department (R&B), 24 backhoe loaders were distributed to the divisions of the department on Tuesday at Agri-Expo site, Dimapur by minister for PWD (R&B), Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire as chief guest
According to CMO media cell, the distribution of the backhoe loaders was a follow-up of the recent visit of chief minister of Nagaland, T.R. Zeliang and his colleagues with officials from National Highway department, R&B department and Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) to various areas across the state affected by the usual monsoon rain this year.
 Speaking at the formal launching and distribution programme, Dr. Nicky while quoting John F. Kennedy famous words, “ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country”, said these words were applicable to the Nagas as they are quick to blame the government if anything goes wrong.
Asserting that everyone should do their part for the progress of the state, he said, “Public, we Nagas in general, should be able to think back and see what we can do for the society rather than finding ways to blame one another.” 
Dr. Nicky said he believe that the smallest thing that one can do for the public should be done wholeheartedly so as to deliver the best. He also challenged the department to take initiative to bring some changes. The minister also asked the department to make best use of the machineries. 
In his speech, commissioner and secretary, works and housing department, Bendangkokba, termed the commissioning of machineries as big opportunity for the department and reminded the department that each and every officers and staff have a purpose and duty to perform.
In regard to being at the receiving end of various criticisms, Bendangkokba called upon the department to take it with a positive attitude and challenge to execute their duties. 
The programme was chaired by NPWD, engineer-in-chief Er. Khupu Natso, technical report was presented by PWD (R&B) chief engineer Er. Krosu Rhetsu while dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev. D. Shiwoto Assumi.
