Unknown miscreants torched two vehicles, Sunday at around 7.40 p.m. at different locations near Hotel Vivor, Kohima. A Maruti van (NL01H 2315) was the first to be set on fire and completely burned. It was parked at the junction of Fisheries directorate some 400 to 500 meters from Hotel Vivor. While police were arranging for fire tender, miscreants then set fire on a Maruti car (NL01H 3225) near Kohima Bible College junction (some 500-600 meters ahead of Hotel Vivor). Passersby and residents doused the flames but it was partially burned. Empty gallons and candles were found inside the car. Police investigation was on but so far no arrest was made.
Meanwhile placards on bamboo stilts were found near the half-burned Maruti car. The words written blamed one of the two rival NPF factions. The placards were seized by police.
