Organisations have condemned the rape of two minors allegedly by one Thunglim Lemba Chang (21) of Hakching village on June 15 at Tuensang town.
PHKU: Phomla Hoichem Kohima Unit (PHKU) has expressed shock at the rape of two minors from Phom community in broad. A condemnation note by PHKU president, Y. Baümei stated that “such disgraceful act is beyond imagination and utterly disgusting” and appealed to all sensible citizens to denounce such heinous crimes so that it should not happen in the future.
PHKU also appealed the district administration to take appropriate action as per law at the earliest and demand the culprit to get exemplary punishment for his inhuman and devilish act.
KMHTU: Khiamnuingan Menyiu Hoikam Tuensang Unit (KMHTU) in a condemnation note by its vice president, Niamkoi and general secretary Liamoi P stated that “this act was a complete violation of Human Rights and against the sanctity and dignity of women”. It further stated that “such barbaric and atrocity act against minor girls cannot be tolerated and must be condemned by all citizens”. KMHTU appealed the law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the perpetrator and said the culprit should not be released on bail under any circumstances.
CCSU: Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) while condemning the “barbarous and horrific act against a minor” has also expressed its deep concern for the life and dignity of a woman in the society. CCSU has appealed the concerned authority to award befitting punishment to the culprit.
SULT: Sakshi Union Longleng Town (SULT) has vehemently condemned the act and appealed every right thinking citizens to condemn and fight against such demean and barbaric act committed on innocent minors. The union has urged the authority and law enforcing agencies to book the accused and award befitting punishment. SULT also demanded that the accused should not be granted bail under any circumstances and that full justice must be delivered to the victims and their families at the earliest. SULT also cautioned that in failure of justice to the victims, the case would be undertaken as per the law of the land as has been practiced.
