WBDD observed in Mon

District AIDS Prevention & Control Unit (DAPCU), voluntary blood donor association Mon, Mon ADP, World Vision India and District Hospital Mon jointly observed the World Blood Donor Day under the theme “What can you do ?” on June 14, at OST Chapel Hall, DH Mon. 
Voluntary Blood Donors Association Mon (VBDAM), president Tongmeth briefed the gathering on the significance of the day. He said the campaign focuses on the role of every single person to help other in times of emergency and the importance of donation blood regularly.  MO in-charge Blood Bank, Dr.Yanang, briefly shared on the basics of blood donation, where he explained the blood types, eligibility to donate blood and the need of safe blood and blood products. He further encouraged the youth, clubs, churches and other institutions to play their roles in this life saving charity work.  Dr.Wungyong, in his short speech, acknowledged those who have voluntarily donated blood to save many lives. He also briefly highlighted the facilities at District hospital, and the need of more voluntary blood donors. 
While appreciating the selfless service of Voluntary Blood Donors Association Mon, he encouraged the members to continue to mobilize others for more voluntary blood donors so as to ensure sufficient supply of blood in times of emergency.  Short motivational speeches were delivered by a donor Minshem and a recipient Maohnyu.   
The programme was chaired by DIS, DAPCU, Mongnyei K, invocation by KBCM fellowship Pastor Taipho and benediction by MTABC, APH T.Wati.
