IDCF launched in Wokha, Pangsha

The Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) was launched in Wokha district on June 12 and would continue till June 24.
In a brief meeting with SMOs, MO and BACs  at DC conference hall on  June 14 at Wokha, Dr. Zathung DPO UIP/RCH called upon the participants to strengthen and intensify the diarrhoea control activities at the block level. 
He urged the medical officers and pharmacist of SCs to set up ORS and Zinc corners in the Health Units. He said that ORS packets were given to the health workers and ASHAs to distribute it among children under 5 years and educate the community about the correct dose of ORS and Zinc tablets, followed by the demonstration regarding the preparation of homemade ORS solution. 
The state monitoring team, RRC consultant government of India would be visiting the district to monitor during the diarrhoea control fortnight. 
The Advisory Committee meeting was also conducted where Wokha ADC Rhosietho Nguori chaired the meeting to discuss about the Weekly Iron Folic Supplementation Programme distribution in the district and during the discussion with the CDPOs and SDEO it was suggested to select one nodal officer each from the Social Welfare and Education Department to monitor and supervise the distribution of WIFS tablets and also look after the reports to be submitted at the CMOs office. 
PHANGSHA: Primary Health Centre Pangsha had observed IDCF on June 14 at Straightway Mission School ITC DAN Indo Myanmar boundary. A press note by chief medical officer Tuensang, Dr. T. Pangjung Sangtam stated that the programme was led by Hosea Meya pharmacist; hand washing technique and health talk was given by Thangmong GNM. ORS & Zinc were given to the children after health check up. Staff of PHC Pangsha and schools was present during the programme.
