To create health lifestyle awareness and raise funds for cancer patients in the community, five-day fitness workshop was organized by Orentsani Fitness Studio (OFS) and Community Health Initiative (CHI) under the theme “Healthy living” which concluded Friday, at OFS, Kikon place, first floor, ADC court junction, Dimapur.
At the programme, Oncologist, Dr. Aokum, highlighted the early warnings and awareness for early detection of cancer and asked the participants not to ignore the symptoms but to be aware of it.
He also encouraged the participants to maintain a healthy diet and maintain physical activity. Dr. Aokum cautioned that lack of exercise would lead to obesity, high blood pressure, chronic respiratory, cardiovascular diseases and cancer.
OFS trainer, Orentsani Suzez, lauded the participants for extending their support and cooperation. She also focussed on the importance of healthy life, saying “Exercise is not only the solution; we need balance diet for healthy life.”
She informed that the studio has been providing free workshop on Monday and Saturday and nutrition class once in month. Interested individuals were asked to contact Orentsani at 9711566875.
The workshop further followed interaction session where participants actively participated in clearing their doubts and queries related to healthy life and cancer.
The workshop was organized keeping in concern the sedentary lifestyle and growing dependency on unhealthy diet that has led to the number of adverse health related issues decreasing the life expectancy and has greatly impacted the development of the society.
Earlier, invocation prayer was pronounced by Apong Aier, welcome speech was delivered by CHI, general secretary Loreni Sophia and life testimony was shared by retired engineer, Nivikhe Ghokuto Sema.
