Mokokchung Police under its “War Against Drugs” arrested three persons including a police personnel on possession of drugs from Mokochung and Dimapur.
A DIRP report informed that, following the arrest of Lanutoshi (33) son of Sendongyanger of Ungma, ‘B’ Khel on July 1, two more persons- Moameren Vmai(40), son of Dvio Vmai Poumai, Tonjoy Poumai-Senapati, Manipur and a resident of Naga United Village Chumukidema and Buni Throzho (47) “SS Kilonser NSCN-K (Niki)” son of Rhinyi Throonzho of Chingme Khullem/Raveme district Senapati, Manipur resident of Rangailong Colony Burma Camp on July 5.
Police said that Lanutoshi, a constable posted in DEF Mokokchung, was apprehended at MMC Complex Sumo Stand, Mokokchung while receiving a parcel from a taxi driver.
During checking, a plastic soap container containing suspected brown sugar/heroin weighing around 9.27 grams concealed inside the parcel was recovered.
On further investigation, police identified the supplier and search operation was conducted in Dimapur on July 5 where the two were arrested. One .22 “calibre pen pistol” with six round and. 22 calibre live-round ammunitions were seized from their possession.
