GPRN/NSCN has cautioned NSCN (IM) not to meddle in the affair of others or attempt to force others into confrontational situation. GPRN/NSCN also demanded release of both its officers namely, RAO Tangpang Ao and ‘maj.’ Merentoshi Ao as well as their arms at the earliest.
GPRN/NSCN through its MIP termed it very “unfortunate that the NSCN (IM) has chosen to adopt a too often failed policy of indulging in anti-peace manoeuvres and actions, reminding the people of Nagaland how they are uncomfortable with the idea of unity of Nagas in Nagaland”. MIP stated that arrest and detention of GPRN/NSCN regional administrative officer of Ao Region, Merentoshi Ao and region guard commander ‘maj.’ Tongpang Ao on February 10 points to a “deliberate agenda of the IM group to divert the attention of the people”.
GPRN/NSCN through its MIP further questioned as to why NSCN (IM) should disturb the peaceful atmosphere in Ao region, while also pointing out that UNC demand for Nagas in Manipur should not be mixed up with the tribes of Nagaland and their land.
