Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) has appealed to the responsible authority to immediately resume internet services in the larger interest of the business community. In a press release, NMDA general secretary, Ashok Kr. Singhal, stated that continuous closure of internet and SMS service in the state, has hit hard the business community, especially the medicine business. The association stated that due to non-availability of internet services, they could neither avail banking facilities like RTGS, online payment system to the companies nor could they avail the required goods from the companies. NMDA said this has resulted into acute shortage of life saving drugs in the market. Not only the shortage of stocks, but also the accounting system has come to an abrupt halt, it stated.
