Deferring polls will not make difference: APO

Rejecting the agreement signed on January 30 between the state government, JCC and the NBCC to postpone the ULB elections for two months, the Angami Public Organization (APO) on Tuesday said deferring the elections would not make any sense unless the Municipal Act was reviewed.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, APO president Dr. Velhousa Seleyi said the only wish of the Naga people was for the state government to review the present Municipal Act.
It may be postponed for two months or two years, but unless the peoples’ demand is fulfilled nothing would change, he reiterated.
While acknowledging the unity of all Naga people at this juncture, Dr. Seleyi said “those occupying the chair should value and love the people since all are created equal to live together in peace”.
