Angamimiapfü Mechü Krotho (AMK) has declared its decision to disassociate itself “completely and immediately” from the Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) for time being till further notice.
In a press release, AMK president, Ruokuoheü Miachieo, and secretary, Kevinguno Meyase, stated that on January 26, 2017, the JACWR at its meeting held at Kohima reviewed the situation leading up to the announced election to ULBs vis-à-vis the appeal made by the state government and various tribal bodies to JACWR to withdraw the SLP in the Supreme Court, and decided to take steps to withdraw the same immediately.
Accordingly, AMK said official communication was conveyed to the state government and other stakeholders. However, without its knowledge and with no consultations, the AMK said NMA filed a PIL on the same matter in the Principal High Court at Guwahati.
