NNSU foundation day program held

The 14th Nzau Namsan Students’ Union (NNSU) foundation day programme was held on Saturday with S. Chuba Longkumer, Block Development Officer for Tening Block as the chief guest.
While speaking to the student community during the occasion, Chuba exhorted the gathering to strive towards becoming an appreciated student and a great leader. He said that the aims and objective of a politician was to win an election and become a legislature, the vocation of a missionary was to win souls, the doctor to save lives, and that of a student to obtain good remarks and become a great leader.
Elucidating education pursued by students as a bundle of activities with various dimensions, the chief guest said that the students should learn dignity of labour, integration of different sections of people, learning one’s own culture, living purity of life, extending efforts to help the needy people and others. He also urged the students to balance their living standard by knowing the condition of their parents.
The BDO expressed regret that most of the students involve in unhealthy practices which was the main cause of failure in life. He discouraged the students in involving sick activities and urged them to always stay away from unhealthy practices like smoking, drinking alcohol, indulging in drugs, and lethargy. He also encouraged them to be disciplined, obedient, punctual in all their activities and to maintain good rapport with both their parents and teachers.
While highlighting on the rapid advancement of modern technology making the world into a global village, he pointed out the negative effects of using computers and cell phones. He urged the students to use the computer and cell phones in the right way. The chief guest further appealed the students to fully concentrate only in their studies forgetting all the worldly attractions and pleasures to become the best among the best.
Earlier the chief guest inaugurated the foundation stone. The programme also included opening prayer by Hupunbo Pastor of NNBC, welcome song by junior class, short speech by Khanthui VC Chairman, special number by BYE, vote of thanks by Sangdinlung, joint secretary of NNSU, and closing prayer by Gumhei. The programme was moderated by Tita, vice president of NNSU.
