The newly constructed Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial Hall Indoor Stadium was inaugurated by K. Konngam Konyak, advisor of Art & Culture and Treasuries & Accounts, at a ceremony held at Rhododendron Resort, Phesama on Wednesday.

The hall was dedicated by Rokuovilie Zashümo, pastor, Baptist Church, Phesama.
In his address, Konngam commended the contractors and engineers for completing the project within the stipulated time, highlighting the importance of the facility for the community.

“This building belongs to our people and will be used by us,” he said, expressing optimism that similar structures across Kohima would benefit the public.

He further emphasized the need for proper maintenance, urging that water and electricity supplies be managed effectively to ensure proper amenities for people coming to utilise the space.

According to him, with good upkeep, the hall could serve the community for years, especially during major events like the Hornbill Festival. He also unveiled the stone monolith at the site.
