Jangpetkong Senso Mungdang concludes

The two-day 75th Jangpetkong Senso Mungdang (JSM) concluded at Molungyimsen Village, under Mokokchung on January 31, with advisor of Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba, as guest of honor.


According to a DIPR report, the advisor said Molungyimsen was significant in Naga history as Christianity first came to the village which eventually spread to the rest of the people.
He therefore said it was imperative to continue the legacy left behind by the forefathers.
He also challenged the gathering to set achievable targets and resolve to work towards it for betterment of the society during such occasion.


Emphasizing on the scope of economic growth, he said Jangpetkong range along with its two neighboring range in Mokokchung has great potential, pointing that according to researchers, out of an estimated 600 million MT of crude oil deposit in the state, the highest concentration of this deposit was located along the three ranges.


He said to tap this potentials, one should work in cohesion with the village councils, and adapt certain social norms to keep in pace with the developmental advancements.


Meanwhile, exhorting the gathering convener, Global Naga Forum (GNF) and former president, Naga Hoho, Chuba Ozukum, shared of his thoughts on socio-economic issues that were relevant to the society and how with right perspective, one can change and shape the future course of the society.
