Two held with PETN

Highway police patrol arrested M Raju of Mantripukhuri, Imphal and K Neelakanta of Vishakapatnam, AP and seized two cooking cylinders containing Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate (PETN), highly explosive compound, stashed in Omni Van (MN-01C-7436) at Lalmati area Friday.
According to police, the two were frisked on suspicion and in due course recovered the illegal consignment. On inquiry the duo reportedly confessed that they were intimated by two Nepali at Dimapur to deliver the consignment till Imphal. Police said the seized items would be sent outside for Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) examination. Preliminary inquiry revealed that PETN was detected with the assistance of Vapour Tracer, which accurately identifies explosives and their intensity.
