KTC asks Wilfred to substantiate child trafficking in Noklak district

April 12, 2025 | by admin

Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC) has questioned IAS officer Reny Wilfred’s media statement that child trafficking prevails in Noklak district.

Media cell of KTC termed as pretence of existence the child trafficking claim by Winifred, as he now finds himself embroiled in another sexual assault case. Winifred was the first deputy commissioner of Noklak district from August 6, 2020 till July 28, 2021.

KTC reiterated that no child trafficking case was registered at any police station in the district, nor reported in any related childcare and protection institution, except a molestation case on two juvenile girls against Wilfred in 2021.

Hence, the KTC dismissed as unsubstantiated Wilfred’s claim on the existence of child trafficking in Noklak district. KTC also dared Wilfred that if he was confident of his claim, then why doesn’t he reveal the existence of child trafficking in the district, instead of remaining a silent spectator during his posting as DC?

KTC described Winifred’s child trafficking allegation as fabricated and aimed at defaming the entire populace of Noklak only to deviate from his actual offence. KTC also urged the law enforcing agencies to expedite the pending case and deliver justice to the victims as per law.
