ENSF on job reservation

Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has expressed displeasure, over what it termed as non implementation of 25% job reservation in current appointment issue under the department of works and housing (PWD) in the state.
The federation alleged in a statement that 14 LDAs were promoted to UDAs while vacancies caused by those promotions were “completely kept in dark” under the influence of responsible minister and high ranking officials of the department.
Further, claiming that application for two posts of SOs grade I and II, three posts of SA and one post each of “chowkidar, sweeper and peon” were found approved by the government, the statement said after an enquiry by ENSF, only “one mere peon post” was offered to their people out of the 21 posts.
Federation also expressed “shock” that government had issued approval order, directing engineer in- chief to issue appointment orders in favour of “the relatives and well wishers of the department officials and minister by depriving and denying the genuine candidates” from the six backward tribes of “Eastern Nagaland.”
The statement further alleged that “one of the posts of LDA, which did not have clear bio-data and which was not even signed was found to be accepted and approved by the concerned officials, the applicant being a candidate of the concerned minister.”
It also alleged that another LDA applicant in the same department in Longleng was directed for appointment at Kiphire while “the rightful candidate who applied for Kiphire was denied.”
Underlining the issue, ENSF said it was concerned “over the policy of suppression and domination by the department towards the six backward tribes.” The federation, in this connection has cautioned the responsible department to comply with its demand, failing which would take its own course of action.
