Senior state BJP unit leaders– K. James Vizo, Mghato Achumi and Yanghose Sangtam, who were recently sacked as party’s vice presidents and spokesman, have shot off a letter to BJP national president Amit Shah wanting to know as to why they were “sacked without any specific reasons”.
In the letter, the three BJP leaders stated that the BJP unit president Visasolie Lhoungu, during a meeting at Hotel Saramati Dimapur on December 5, had claimed that “a direction was given by the Central BJP leadership” to drop them from their posts with immediate effect.
“On being asked– the reasons for dropping us, he (Lhoungu) could not give us any tangible response to satisfy us,” they said. Asserting that as sincere and dedicated party workers, the three BJP members said their main objective was to prepare for the forthcoming 2018 elections. “We have not played anything which would be detrimental to the party,” they added.
The BJP members in this regard appealed Amit Shah to deliver them justice in the interest of the party in the state and the national level.
Meanwhile, a senior party member claimed that Vizo, Achumi and Sangtam were sacked following the directive of BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav. It was reported that few state party leaders were asked to come to Guwahati and was informed about the decision. Ram Madhav who is also the in-charge of North Eastern states is stationed at Guwahati to oversee the preparations for the forthcoming Manipur Assembly elections.
