Gov bats for skilling ESM fraternity

In line with the Centre’s scheme for re-skilling ex-servicemen (ESM) in order to provide them gainful employment, Nagaland governor, PB Acharya, on Wednesday said eligible dependents of ESM should pursue skills development like nursing, driving, tailoring and plumbing, which he said were in great demand and would lead to employment.
Interacting with a team of ESM led by Brig (Retd) KK Roy Choudhury, Directorate of Sainik Welfare & Resettlement (RSB) at Raj Bhawan on the occassion of Armed Forces Flag Day, Acharya emphasized on the need for ESM fraternity to visit schools and colleges to educate the youth on scarifies made by Armed Forces in defending the country against external aggressive and share their experience.
Acharya also felt the need to ensure optimum utilization of available resource for welfare of the ESM fraternity. Governor mentioned that various facilities and schemes introduced by the central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, like Jan Dhan Yojana, Insurance scheme and skills development must be availed to accrue maximum benefits.
Further, the governor said ESM fraternity should reach out to the population and make them understand the benefits of such schemes.
Meanwhile, the governor conveyed his best wishes and appreciated the contribution made by the Armed Forces and the veterans.
