Reacting to the post-poll conflict that had created tension in Wokha Town areas, Kyong Hoho (KH) has appealed all to remain calm and requested district administration to take corrective measures to contain the situation.
In a statement, KH chairman Yansathung Jami and KH general secretary Michael Yanthan said the hoho was “deeply anguished” by the reports of post-election violence which had “marred” the peaceful atmosphere in and around Wokha Town.
KH while expressing resentment over the turn of events including “unabated” damage to properties and restriction of movements of passengers/commuters, appealed all “section/parties” involved to restrain and refrain from committing any more form of violent acts.
This, the hoho said was required to bring about calm atmosphere and peaceful co-existence among Kyong community at large.
The hoho, while assuring co-operation on its part for restoring normalcy in the violence-affected areas, also requested the district administration and law enforcing agency to remain vigilant and take corrective measures to curb the charged situation.
