NSS unit of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma held its special camping from April 6-13 under the theme “Healthy living, healthy attitude” at Thekriinoma “khel”, Jotsoma and the college campus.
Altogether, 60 volunteers and three programme officers attended the camp. The resource persons were Dr. Bernice Thaprii, joint director (targeted intervention), NSACS, Azonuo Viluo, Kekhrie foundation, and C. Theyo, state liaison officer, NSS, department of youth resources and sports.
The acitivities during the camp included – blood donation by 20 volunteers, one-day interaction with students of GPS, GMS and GHS at T Khel, Jotsoma, cleaning of the village and the campus, organized football and volleyball matches, conducted debate competition, and screened documentaries on climate change.
It may be mentioned that NSS annual special camping is a mandatory programme for all NSS and the participation certificate carries a weight age of 5 marks during admission to other HEIs in the country.
