District level WIFAS training held in Phek

District level training on ‘Weekly Iron Folic Acid Supplementation’ (WIFAS) was conducted at Phek District from May 1-10.

The training was conducted for ASHAs, ASHA coordinator, DCM, Angawadi supervisors, ANMs, Teachers, Angawadi’s workers, medical officers, SMOs & Block SDEO respectively.

The resource persons were Dr. Hezo DPO (RCH &UIP) Phek and Keneingutuo DPM Phek. Participants were trained on how to administer weekly Iron- Folic acid supplements at school based and community based, screening of target groups of moderate/severe anemia for for referral cases, distribution of Biannual Albendazole for de-worming and conducted counselling and spreading awareness for improving dietary intake and prevention of intestinal worm infestation.
