GPRN/NSCN flays ‘assassination bid’ on NPG leader

GPRN/NSCN under the leadership of “gen.” (retd.), M B Neokpao Konyak, and N. Kitovi Zhimomi, has strongly condemned the “assassination attempt” on the life of Kiumukam, president of NNC/GDRN at LRC colony, Dimapur on October 18.
GPRN/NSCN MIP stated that “resorting to violence of the most barbaric kind would not make anyone a hero or a leader”. It said “killing amongst Naga brothers has manifested in further division and animosity in our land” and all issues among must be solved through dialogue. GPRN/NSCN stated that it maintains “a very cordial and dignified relationship” with most of the NPGs on the spirit of reconciliation and brotherhood. Pointing out that escalation of violence would not serve “our” purpose, it said the perpetrators must be identified and brought to justice at the earliest. 
GPRN/NSCN also wished Kiumukam a speedy recovery and prayed that the miraculous escape would make him a benevolent leader and an ambassador of peace among the Nagas.
