SHG Federation sensitization cum orientation under RD Block Medziphema, sponsored by DRDA Dimapur was held at Town Hall Dimapur on Thursday with Maongwati Aier, DC Dimapur as chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest stressed the vital role played by the SHG, Dimapur in the formation of its new federation. He said formation of such federation will raise the standard of people living both below and above poverty line.
He encouraged the federation members to form a network for the benefit of the up coming entrepreneurs in Dimapur as well as the rest of the Districts in Nagaland adding it would be an ample opportunity in making one’s own future decision.
According to Aier SHG should consist 40 % of women folks and 50 % from the SC and ST.
Chairing the programme Alemla Therie, president SHG Federation, Medziphema Block emphasized the background and achievements of SHG in different parts of the state.
Short speeches were also delivered by Renlok SHG, M. C Gayari, AGM, NABARD, AGM SBI Regional office Dimapur.
It may be mentioned that 212 SHGs were registered on Thursday.
