CYF disturbed by border row

Taking note of recent outburst with regard to NAP occupying BSF outpost at Lanye, the Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) said the matter was “blown out of proportion by so called valley based organization in connivance with the locals of Jessami village.”
In a press statement received here Monday, the CYF president Mudovoyo Vero and general secretary Deo Movim said: “what is disturbing and distressing is the fact that deliberate attempts have been made to distort history and the traditional land holding systems.”
The signatories said it was an “established fact” that Jessami village was established with people from Lozaphuhu, Losami, Chizami, Thetsumi etc and villagers speaking Khezha (Chakhesang) as their mother tongue was a “living testimony to the long shared relationship despite artificial and notional boundaries created in the name of statehoods.”
Lauding the initiative of Nagaland government in protecting the interest, rights and entitlements of its citizens in this issue, the CYF urged government to deploy neutral force at Lanye wherein fairness and natural rights of its citizens will be ensured.
Deployment of Manipur IRB or Manipur police personnel at Lanye against the NAP would only add fuel to the matter, the CYF said: “We will not forgo our rights and entitlement come what may.”
BSF reoccupies barrack
Meanwhile, according to Hueiyen News Service the troops of 111 Bn BSF have reoccupied its earlier post.
Troops of 111th battalion BSF who occupied earlier but left for election duty in Tripura during the Parliamentary election in the state returned back to the post and took over the post again from the Nagaland Armed Police yesterday, official reports said.
As soon as the BSF troops reached the barrack at the inter-state border at Jessami, NAP has left the post closing the episode of Nagaland police occupying Manipur territory, the report culled from the area stated.
It was also reported that a company of Manipur IRB, currently stationed at Jessami police station is still staying there. Whether, they would stay there further for guarding the inter-state border or will back to their original post could not be confirmed from the report.
