Security has been beefed up in two colleges of the state capital due the strike called by the Congress backed student organisation NSUI today, reports UNI.Police said the security was enhanced in Sabroom, Udaipur, Khowai and Kailashahar colleges as report of group clashes between NSUI and left backed SFI surfaced in the last two days, on the eve of the college elections, leaving least 20 students injured. The NSUI leaders alleged that the college authorities were favouring SFI and obstructing them in the election process. They furthers said SFI cadres were unnecessarily harassing and threatening the students to gain their support while SFI alleged the reverse.However, Higher Education Minister Anil Sarkar urged students to maintain peace in the college and uphold the tradition of friendly atmosphere in the campus to help sustaining standard of education.
