National level Food Corporation of India SC & ST Employees Welfare Association (FCIEWA) general secretary and BKNK national coordination secretary, M. S. Ranga has addressed meeting at FCI/FSD Dimapur on May 29 for SC & ST category, as part of his visit to NE zone. He briefed members on the aims and objectives of the downtrodden community and advised SC & ST incumbents to work for the upliftment of the community. Ranga also stated that due to existence of the association, employees under the category were achieving benefits in reserved quota for appointments as well as promotions. Meanwhile, association regional secretary, S. K. Barman informed that the national general secretary also visited association offices at Jorhat, Dibrugarh and Shillong accompanied by regional and zonal members.
New union formed
DIMAPUR: A new union by the name ‘Vodafone Tower Land Owner’s Union Dimapur’ (VTLOUD) was formed on May 29. The union was formed by Vodafone Tower Land Owners Dimapur in a meeting held at Hotel Yak, Station Road, Dimapur. The union elected K. Sahu Angami as its chairman and Temjenchila Longchar as the secretary and four executive members. The meeting discussed on tower sharing with company and other than Vodafone, security personals and insurance for tower related accidents, besides grievances of the tower land owner to the authority.
