HDFC hikes fixed deposit rates

Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) bank has informed the public of Nagaland that it has increased the Fixed Deposit (FD) interest rates by 25-75 basis points across most tenures with effect from July 30, 2010.
HDFC Bank Dimapur branch manager, Bedanta Deka said the HDFC was one of the first banks to announce the upward revision in deposit rates. The changes in the deposit rates are as follows:
Tenure Old rate New rate
91 days-180 days 4.5 % 5.25 %
9 months- 1year 5.75 % 6.25 %
1year 16 days 6.75% 7 %
2year 16 days 7.25% 7.5 %
The HDFC Dimapur branch manager has requested the public of Dimapur and entire Nagaland to grab this golden opportunity of increased FD rates.
