The body of a local laborer working at Naginimora coal mining area 78 kilometers away from Mon district headquarters who reportedly went missing on September 9 was recovered by a fellow laborer on September 17 evening, sources said Monday.
The deceased was identified as Chenshim Konyak from Chenloisho village under Mon district.
Sources also said that three persons have been taken into police custody and police investigating the case. The reason for the crime was yet to ascertained, sources added.
Meanwhile, N. Lohwang Konyak president Chenloisho village Nokden Union Mon, in a press release while condemning the incident has appealed to the district police to firmly investigate the matter and book the criminals involved and be punished as per the law.
