: A six member team of the Angami Women Organization (AWO) undertook an eight-day educational and exposure trip to China from October 20 to 27.
The team’s main target of visiting China was Shanghai, where the World Expo 2010 is currently underway.
192 countries are participating in the six month expo starting from May till October 31 under the theme-“Better City, Better Life.”
The theme – Better City, Better Life is about life, reflection of time and building a world of tomorrow for a better life. It also showcases future living solutions in daily life and to go for eco-friendly housing to instill a better everyday life.
In Shanghai, the team visited TV Tower, The Bund, Huangpu River Cruise, Shanghai Museum, People Square, Nanjing Road, Silk Shop, Yuyuan Garden, Yu Market, Xiantiandi-the night life of Shanghai.
The places visited in Beijing were The Bird’s Nest (Olympic National Stadium), The Water Cube, The Summer Palace, Pearl Shop, Tian’anmen Square (the biggest square in the world), The Forbidden City, The Hutong tour or Rickshaw Tour, The Longdi Jade Shop, The Great Wall- Badaling and The Wangfujin Street.
AWO has extended gratitude to CMO, chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, PHE department, president AWO, and K. Seyie for assisting the team through various support.
