Chairman of the NSCN (IM) Isak Chishi Swu Tuesday affirmed that his group stood by the covenant of reconciliation and welcomed all the people who were willing to join in the reconciliation process.
He stated this upon his arrival at Dimapur airport on Tuesday afternoon.
While pointing out that it was up to those who refused to join in the reconciliation, Swu said that he was willing to meet anyone wherever the place may be. It may be noted that the FNR has tried to convene a reconciliation meeting of the top leaders from both the NSCN (IM) and NSNC (K).
When asked about the progress on the ongoing talks with the GoI, the NSCN (IM) chairman said that they have already met the PM, who was fully committed for finding an early solution to decade’s old Naga problem. He further disclosed that the next talks will be held within next two to three weeks.
Later addressing the people who had come to receive him outside the airport, Swu told them that they have already met the Prime Minister for speeding up the talks. He also urged the people to pray for the ongoing talks.
The NSCN (IM) chairman who was accompanied by his wife Uster Chishi Swu later left for Hebron camp in a bullet proof vehicle escorted by police personnel and convoy of vehicles.
Meanwhile, senior functionaries of the outfit confirmed that general secretary Th. Muivah will be arriving at Dimapur on March 3.
Raising welcomes Swus
Welcoming the NSCN (I-M) chairman Isak Chishi Swu and his wife Uster Chishi Swu on arrival at Hebron, NSCN (I-M) home minister (kilo kilonser) Rh. Raising hoped that both would be renewed, rekindled and revived in the homely environment and in the company of old acquaintances, friends and near and dear ones.
Raising also reaffirmed that ‘revolutionary spirit’ remained high at home though some were martyred while “some of our dear brothers and sisters” during Swu’s absence joined forces “with the adversary, betraying the national cause and leadership.”
Saying that there still remained a good number of “revolutionary people and workers” faithful to the nation, Raising said there was nothing to fear about any eventuality since the “the presence of the Lord is here with us”.
He said while the older generation regretted for missing the bus, Raising said by God’s grace the opportunity has arrived in solving the problem and for which people were looking up to the collective leadership adding “ we cannot miss the bus again.”
On reconciliation, he said it was the talk of every Naga though it has never come close to reality and elusive and as slippery as an eel. Though unity and reconciliation was not easy, yet it was not impossible he said adding what was needed was strategy and policy to achieve it so as to focus attention towards nation building.
Riasing cautioned that “enemies within and without are multiplying” and come in many “shades and prongs” such as in the form of faction, or brothers and sister, drugs, alcohol, or mammon (the god of money) and rampant corruption.
Raising asserted that what was needed at this hour was revival in all fields-church, fields, market, office, school, college and everywhere and sought Swu’s direction to deliver the “people of Nagalim” who were long “suppressed and oppressed and in need of a healing touch.
GPRN lauds
The “Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim” has expressed a “hearty gratitude” to all individuals, civil organizations and schools, who extended their invaluable services of solidarity with fervent prayers and painstaking reception of its “yaruiwo” Chishi Swu, on his arrival at the Dimapur Airport Tuesday.
A press release issued by MIP also conveyed “utmost special” appreciation to Naga Council Dimapur, GBs’ association of Pughoto areas, Sumi Council Dimapur, Diphupar Sumi Community Council, Dimapur Sumi Aphuyemi (SAKD), the Naga Students’ Union Diphupar and also to school faculty and students of Eastern Academy school, Unity Christian Higher Secondary and the Government High School Diphupar for presenting and showering with beautiful bouquets to its “yaruiwo”.
Maintaining that without their presence and support, the reception of its “yaruiwo” would not have been possible “in such a meaningful way,” the MIP said: “We shall be looking forward on your fervent prayer and support in the days to come.”
