Mon police on Friday morning recovered the body of one J. K. Thomas, also known as Khungwang of Khonsa village in Arunachal Pradesh, a ‘Brigadier’ in the GPRN/NSCN. The body was found a few meters away from the Welcome gate of Mon Village and brought to Mon Police Station. Initially, the victim was suspected to be murdered with blunt object as his chest bore bruises and his forehead cracked. However, the postmortem revealed that the victim was shot at point blank range just below his right ear and the bullet exited through his head. An FIR has been lodged and official investigation on. Meanwhile, deputy Angh and chairman of Mon Village Council, Tunwang has appealed to various organizations to restrain themselves from such activities within Mon Jurisdiction in the future.
