Sand Stockists’ and Suppliers’ Union (SSSU) Dimapur has alleged that some individuals, taking advantage of the ban on supply of sand from Karbi Anglong, were selling sand at rates higher than the rates prescribed by it.
According to SSSU president Viniho Shohe and general secretary Nito Sumi, the rates fixed by the union for Kanaighat was Rs. 37 per cft while Lungnit sand was Rs. 35 per cft.
Informing the public not to pay more than the rates fixed by the union, the union also warned that would seize both the vehicle and sand of any supplier/dealer caught selling sand above union prescribed rate.
