State department of veterinary and animal husbandry set up a disease diagnostic laboratory (DDL) at Mangkolemba to boost livestock farming under Mangkolemba sub-division in Mokokchung district.
DDL building was inaugurated by director, veterinary and animal husbandry, Dr. L. S. Moses in the presence of ADC Mangkolemba, Temsu Longkumer and other senior officers from the department.
Disease Diagnostic Laboratory being set up at Mangkolemba is the second after DDL Yimyu at Mokokchung in the district with the objective to contain outbreak epidemic and other diseases prevailing on animals and poultry birds and to boost economy in the region. Dr. Moses highlighted activities undertaken by the department to further promote livestock breeders in the state and expressed hope that livestock breeders in Mangkolemba sub-division would benefit with the launching of DDL.
