The RockAware Zunheboto audition was held at Town Hall Zunheboto where 5 bands took part in the district audition.
Anti-Trust band, the winner of the audition would be representing the district at the grand finale to be held in Dimapur on October 15.
The show witnessed the participation and encouragement of many dignitaries from the state as well as the district. The function was graced by ADC Zunheboto, Sarah Jamir as special guest.
Sarah thanked the NSACS, Music Task Force and the District Event Manager for bringing about a show to spread awareness on HIV & AIDS.
The event was made meaningful with the participation of the senior citizens and many NGO’s of the town. Huskha Yepthomi, Chief Advisor Zunheboto Town Council appreciated the event organisers for taking the initiative to promote local talents as well as fight and create awareness on HIV & AIDS.
Hushili a member of PNP+ who spoke in the event urged the gathering and the youth to value their life.
She also made an appeal to the people not to stigmatise or discriminate people living with HIV and AIDS.
She encouraged the gathering to get their blood tested and be aware of the disease and not to walk away from it.
Hotoi Chophy, Manager KRIPA foundation and also a recovered alcohol and drug addict in his speech promoted the importance of rehab facilities and also clarified that addiction was not because of drugs or alcohol but a state of mind and where one needed counselling and constant support to deal with addiction.
The RockAware Brand Ambassador and Naga Idol Renbeni Oduyo interacted with students of Step by Step School, Zunheboto Govt. College not only with soulful songs but most importantly spreading awareness on HIV & AIDS.
The event was a great success with a grand participation and cooperation of the public of Zunheboto who poured in to support the campaign to create awareness and make the world a better place to live in.
