Low-intensity blast in Wokha

In a suspected handiwork of miscreants, a low-intensity blast occurred at administrative officers’ building, G.A. Colony, Wokha Thursday evening at around 7:30 p.m. No casualties were reported.

According to sources, the bomb was planted beside a Sintex water tank at the premises of the officers’ building. Gelatin sticks were used in the blast, the sources added.

The building reportedly housed SDO (C) Wokha, Nokcha Sashi; EAC, Shayin Shen and EAC (HQ), Renbemo.
When contacted, the ADC Wokha, Anthony Ngullie confirmed the incident and said officers were away at the time of the blast.

He also said there were no damages reported, except a large hole in the water tank.
He said material evidences, found around the blast site, have been collected by the police.
The ADC said so far there was no clue about the blast as investigation was on.
