NSCN (K) cautions Sumi Hoho vice president

December 29, 2011 | by admin

NSCN (K) Wednesday alleged that incumbent Sumi Hoho vice president Kitoho Rotokha, despite “repeated reminder” to desist from “misusing” Sumi Hoho office “merely to serve factional interest”, has “exceeded his official obligation” and “without doubt become an outspoken activist of Khehoi camp.”

The NSCN (K) demanded Kitoho Rotokha to “immediately resign” from Sumi Hoho or face “dire consequences.”
Asserting that the NSCN (I-M), since the year 1997, has been running Ghathashi designated camp as per the ceasefire agreement with government of India, the NSCN (K), in a statement released by MIP, said likewise since the signing of armistice with GoI in the year 2001, it has all along been maintaining Suruhuto designated camp as per the “bilateral agreement.”

The MIP said: “Well aware that ceasefire is between the two NSCNs and GoI, for the last one decade of tumultuous factional situations between the NSCN (K) and NSCN (I-M) particularly in Zunheboto District, there had been no question of removal of designated camps of NSCNs from Zunheboto District.”

According to MIP, the Sumi Hoho, the frontal Sumi organisations or even the general Sumi public “never bothered to interfere in the issues pertaining to Ceasefire.”

Therefore, the NSCN (K) said it was “highly questionable” why the Sumi Hoho “out of the blue” should “lobby” for removing designated camps of two NSCNs from Zunheboto district.

It asked why Sumi Hoho remained silent for the last ten years in connection to NSCNs’ designated camps and why would the Sumi Hoho pursue for removal of designated camps from Zunheboto only in the year 2011?

“The conspiracy is too apparent that, the Sumi Hoho misguided by Kitoho Rotokha in-order facilitate establishment of Khehoi’s designated camp unnecessarily and irrelevantly implied removal of NSCN’S designated camps at Ghathashi and Suruhuto,” said the NSCN (K).

However, the MIP said when the GoI approved designated camp for Khehoi camp in Ghukiye village under Zunheboto, the Sumi Hoho, despite “vociferous campaign” to remove all kinds of designated camps within Zunheboto, chose to remain silent and pacified.

“However, when in retaliation to unprovoked firings by Khehoi camp, the NSCN conducted pre-emptive strike at the Khehoi gang’s proposed designated camp in Ghukiye and prevented the initial preparation to establish the camp, the Hoho once again revived its agenda for removal of NSCN’s designated camps in Zunheboto district,”  the MIP claimed.

Further, the MIP said series of inquiries has already been initiated and it has been established “beyond doubt” that “the so called Sumi Hoho’s stand” did in no manner represent the collective will or decision of the Sumis “or for the matter even does not reflect the unanimous affirmation of the Hoho’s constituents.”

The NSCN (K) alleged that Kitoho Rotokha, while serving as Sumi Hoho vice president, was also “representing Khehoi camp in every shade, colour, speeches and actions.”

Thus, the NSCN (K) said it was imperative on its part to issue “final notice” and ask Kitoho Rotokha to “immediately resign from Sumi Hoho so as to cease misleading the Sumis or face dire consequences.” “Kitoho Rotokha shall hence forth be treated as Khehoi camper and not Sumi Hoho’s vice president,” the NSCN (K) statement remarked.
