Two-day national seminar on ‘Materials science’ was inaugurated Friday at Patkai Christian College (PCC) by vice-chancellor, Nagaland University, professor Bolin Kumar Konwar and SASRD, professor B.S. Chauhan as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, vice-chancellor NU said seminar like this on science gives a new perspective to the students as younger generation in India was losing interest in the field of science.
He was of the view that this generation students are more interested in other streams as compared to science.
Questioning as to what has possibly gone wrong with the seniors, including him, for the decline, he opined that it must be because of science being taught without scientific innovations in the country including the state.
The vice- chancellor NU then said time has come to do some serious research and use the facilities provided by the colleges or institutions.
