Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur N. Hushili Sema (IAS) said that exhibitions were not only a platform to do good business but also to know and learn each other’s skills.

She said this at the inaugural programme of the state level PMEGP/REGP exhibition, Tuesday here at Super market complex, Dimapur.
The deputy commissioner said participants should maintain a healthy competition in exhibitions and through it, learn how to enhance and upgrade their skills.

Encouraging women participation in exhibitions, DC said women should be able to sustain themselves though this profession by being more efficient and dynamic in their skills.

Hushili was also of the view that most of the Nagas were “weak” in business not because they were incompetent, but because of their outlook on profit maximization.

She then suggested that moderate profit margin should be maintained and products should be made more marketable by providing good quality so as to sustain business.

Pointing out that such exhibitions were not for departmental profit but for those people who cannot sell their products in a big market, the deputy commissioner said those seeking to participate in exhibitions for the sake of getting TA and DA does not hold any meaning.
Guest of honour, chief executive officer Nagaland KVI board Kohima, K. Jimo also deliberated on the benefits of exhibitions.

So far 24 stalls have been set up by organizations from different parts of the state as well as from Manipur, Meghalaya and Mizoram while more participants from outside the state are awaited.
