Security forces apprehended at least four NSCN cadres– two NSCN (I-M) and two Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) cadres, in separate incidents in Assam and Nagaland.
According to PIB (Defence Wing), one Raju Bramo of the NSCN (I-M) was apprehended near Lalpahara in Tinsukia district on April 24 along with a .22 pistol, four live ammunition.
In another operation, a senior cadre of NSCN (I-M) identified as Nyaoba Konyak @ Nweypa was apprehended near Titabor under Jorhat district on April 23 while trying to escape a check post. Two US-made Beretta pistols with two magazines were seized. The cadre was actively involved in planning and conduct of extortion and kidnapping activities in upper Assam, it added.
In another joint operation, Army and Assam Rifles team apprehended two NSCN (K) cadres of the Yung Aung faction near Yoching under Mon district on April 25. One ‘sgt.’ Kabato Sema and ‘sgt.’ Lokivi Sema were apprehended along with one .32mm pistol, 10 live rounds and Rs 25000 in cash.
