Dimapur District Trucks Drivers Union (DDTDU) nabs unauthorized collector

Dimapur District Trucks Drivers Union (DDTDU) said it has apprehended one person for collecting taxes in the name of Dimapur Trucks Drivers Union (DTDU) based on specific complaint from bona fide drivers/members.
In a release, the DDTDU president H Kaiho Zhimomi and general secretary Suren said union office bearers along with some of its bona fide registered members on receiving complaints carried out inquiry and verification.
During the inquiry it was ascertained that one person Sonu Chetri, son of Sanjay Chetri, a resident of Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, who was neither registered member nor a driver, was forcefully collecting taxes from the drivers.
They said on being questioned, the person revealed that he was collecting the taxes as per the instruction of one Piketo Shikhu, also a resident of Half Nagarjan, who was reportedly a government teacher.
Thereafter, the union said apprehended person was handed over to the police and an FIR lodged with east police station for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the DDTDU has appealed to the district administration and the police to look into the matter and control unauthorised person(s) from committing such acts from the bona fide members of the DDTDU.
