Kohima District Taxi Association’ (KDTA) to take up issues concerning taxi drivers, rates

A new team of office bearers under the banner ‘Kohima District Taxi Association’ (KDTA) stated that it would take over the responsibility of looking after the welfare and issues concerning taxi owners, drivers and commuters who avail taxi service both local and zonal under Kohima district for a period of two years.

The association also elected Rüühoulie Robert Kire as its president, Vichulie Theünuo and Kevilelie Rhitso as vice presidents, Kevishüsal Khuzama as general secretary, Himo Tep as joint secretary, Kenei-u Khroumo as treasurer, Achum Ao as public relations cell and Kevinei-u Zhotso as advisor.

KDTA stated that in its meeting between Kohima village youth organization and concerned taxi owners under Kohima district, it resolved that privileged system which was in practice at New NST Zonal taxi parking lot has been removed, rate of Zonal taxi fare per passenger on the Kohima-Dimapur route has been fixed at Rs. 220/- from Rs250/- action will be taken on any defaulter.

It also resolved to fix rate of town trip per local taxi at Rs80/- from Rs100, any local taxi which possessed proper documents can park or pick passengers from any govt allotted parking area under Kohima town, no parking tax except those of the municipality would be allowed, till further notification.

Further, Kohima district taxi association and Kohima village youth organization requested all taxi owners, drivers and public to abide by the new regulations and system.
