The road from Tizit to Mon, the lifeline of the largest tribe of Nagaland is said to be deteriorating day by day.
A press release issued by 43 A/C Tapi Lanpha Konyak, MLA stated the road is not only plyable but has almost become a fishery pond.
Due to lack of proper connectivity, he said the entire district was facing shortage of medicines and essential commodities as a result of which, people living in the area are facing immense harship due to high cost of living.
Taking a dig at the NPF led DAN government, Konyak said the government has become a “mere spectator” since the work on the said road initially commenced in the year 2010.
He also stated ignoring the largest backward tribe had become an “advantage to the present government whereas people knew their tricks and there is no alternative slogan of assurance than the promise of completing the road by next tenure which they have neglected”.
Impatient due to the government’s ignorance, the MLA said the people of the district are being compelled to ask as to who was the responsible contractor/authorities and government involved in the road construction.
He further added the public has appealed to the department in-charge to complete the work within a month or else the “fate of the people of this district would be more horrible especially during the month of July and August”.
