Meeting held for peace in Mon

A joint meeting was held to assess the prevailing situation in Tobu and Mopong areas under Mon district on June 6 at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mon office. A press release by KU (B) Tobu, general secretary, Y.C. Langsao stated that in the meeting, minister for Transport, Civil Aviation and Railway, Land Resources, Paiwang Konyak, expressed concern over the prevailing situation and asserted on the need to maintain peace in Mon district.

The minister also called upon KU (B) Tobu advocate the importance of peace for achieving any kind of development in the state.
He assured full cooperation towards the needs raised by the KU (B) Tobu president, S. A. Ngamlao, for the welfare and development in the district. Earlier, KU (B) Tobu president, S. A. Ngamlao, appreciated the minister, the district administration, law enforcing agency and KU Mon for their concern in maintaining law and order situation in the area. Ngamlao reminded those gathered about the need for upgrading Tobu Police Station to the SDPO and the need for additional Police force.  He pointed out that in case of emergencies, the long distance between Mopong EAC Hqs and Tobu Hqs and the main district headquarters becomes a major hurdle in handling law and order situation.
 Ngamlao also asserted the need for timely posting of administrative officers under Mopong EAC Hqs and Tobu Hqs.
