Political settlement will come, cannot predict time: SC Jamir

Former Nagaland chief minister and former governor of Goa and Maharashtra Dr. SC Jamir Friday said that political settlement to the Naga issue would come but could not predict when the precise time would be.
Speaking at a function here at Mekuli junction, some 12 kilometers from Mokokchung, Dr. Jamir reiterated that the Congress was the only hope for the Nagas which could bring about an acceptable solution to the Naga issue. ”.
Dr. SC Jamir was received at Mekuli Junction, some 12 kilometer away from Mokokchung Town by over a thousand Congress party workers and supporters. A short felicitation programme was held at the venue of reception.
Jamir urged Congress workers to make the dreams of every Naga come true through changes in every aspect of life by bringing back Congress to power. The Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and North East Congress Coordination Committee (NECCC) special committee chairman was touring Mokokchung district Friday.
The president 26 Aonglenden ACCC Imtitemjen Longkumer lauded Dr. Jamir’s untiring endeavours and his efforts for bringing welfare to the Naga people. He also wished him success in his newly assigned work as the chairman of special committee for the revival and strengthening of North East Congress Coordination Committee.
Felicitation speech was also pronounced by Aotongpang Tatar, a village elder from Ungma who also appreciated the achievements of Dr. Jamir and his valuable contributions.
After the formal civic reception programme at Mekuli Junction, Jamir headed for his residence at Mokokchung Town where he once again urged the people to work ceaselessly so that Congress may come back to power after successfully contesting the forthcoming Assembly election.
DCCM congratulates Jamir: Meanwhile, the District Congress Committee Mokokchung (DCCM) has congratulated Dr. S.C. Jamir for being selected as the chairman of a special Committee to strengthen North East Congress Coordination Committee NECC.
DCCM president S. Tia Longkumer and general secretary (admn) Imkongyanger in a statement further stated that the chairman of the special committee was a befitting position given to their “seasoned and visionary leader”.
